Movie Genres – Experiment with Different Cinematography

Many people have one set go-to genre of movie and never branch out. The only problem with this is that you will likely miss some really great work. Those who enjoy an exciting action flick could delve into a thriller.

This is like going from Mad Max to the Accountant. The leap is not that major when the work is good and the story line is developed. Another option to consider during this sort of exploration is work from the past.

Surprisingly, films like Casablanca, North by Northwest and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof are relevant to today’s current events. The all include stories that are serious, comic and relatable. The different ways that directors presented locations can be appreciated.

Find a new movie to view that is a change from your first choice. It is possible to tailor a more diverse appetite for movie-watching. Streaming services allow viewers to explore as many genres as they want.

Black Girls & Education

In previous articles, I’ve discussed some of the misconceptions related to race and education. Black girls in America have a lot to overcome when it comes to succeed in certain areas. Many people would be surprised to discover exactly what these girls are thinking about their own futures. I would imagine that the answers they’d find, would not fit their image of these girls.
education by Black girls in America.
Through a series of interviews, I’ve been able to scratch the surface on some of these topics. We all know that children are our future, as well as, the future of our country. Relying on them to propel the country, means investing in them now. Let’s take a look at some things that are being focused on about
academically. Those that manage to find the key to making better grades, usually continue to do so.

Selecting a Career

In years past, parents encouraged kids to choose whatever career path that they wanted. Now days, this encouragement has changed a little. With millions of unemployed people in the marketplace, revising your career plans is important. There are limited positions for applicants to compete for. It is important to look at the fields that are hiring right now.

This is a good way to determine if you are spending your educational funds wisely. It is possible to find work that you love and are fulfilled by. Children must also focus on industries that offer gainful employment. One of the best ways to find out what the hot jobs are today is by doing a bit of research. This information will prove helpful as children and parents look forward to the future.

Factor in your experience
Employers across the country look at a number of factors when it comes to hiring employees. They factor in both your educational experience and your work experience. The skills that applicants have gained over the years make them better candidates. Select a career path that exemplifies your experience.

Career outlooks matter
The outlook for specific careers is very important. Researching what experts say about specific positions like computer analysts, programmers, and designers. These are sought after fields for students to consider. If you’re studying accounting, you’ll need to find jobs that offer a level of confidence for the future.

Consider the income
The income that positions pay right now doesn’t mean that they may not change later. This growth, or lack thereof, will depend on the outlook for those jobs. It is important to consider how much money you would like to make versus how much you need to make.

Consider Community Colleges

For many years, a college education was thought of as a privilege in this country. Only families with financial means were able to send their children to college. Over the years, state and federal governments stepped into this process. This led more and more kids to pursue higher education. For a select few, even Ivy League schools were the goal.

The current economy has affected many segments of life. Education is absolutely included in this category. Community colleges have worked to bridge the gap for many families in America. There are a number of practical benefits to earning a degree through a community college. These institutions also provide students with access to certificate programs that can be useful in their career pursuits.

Cheaper education
One of the problems graduates of 4-year universities will tell you is their having to pay back loans for education. This is usually because these schools are much more expensive than community colleges. Selecting a local community college will provide you with an affordable degree. Parents are often able to pay out of pocket for these programs. This eliminates having to re-pay student loans for years after graduation.

Shorter period of time
The average program at a community college is 1 ½ to 2 years long. This depends on whether students are full time or not. An associate’s degree program may allow students to get to work sooner. Local employers may be able to easily hire people who have completed certificate programs, which are also available at these schools.

Smaller classrooms
Large schools also have large classrooms. Community colleges have smaller classes, which is great for student-to-teacher ratios. Many feel that this is a better environment for learning. The average class on these campuses can range from 25-35.

What Are They Thinking? Pt. 2

We’ve discussed before that teens are really thinking about what’s going on around them. In some cases, these are their own current events. Teens are also interested in the events that take place around the world. They are influenced greatly by the interests of their parents and peers. Encouraging conversation is a good way to find out what your teen is thinking.

You can also use conversation to spark their interests in other thinks. Magazines are popular sources of information for teens. These periodicals along with the internet are regularly used by them. Social networks are a part of our consciousness largely due to young people. Let’s take a look at some of the issues that teens are concerned with.

Jobs creation

This is one of the most important topics to teens today. The fact that many of them are included in the millions of unemployed has something to do with this. At the same time, this issue affects their future. Teens want to seen progress in jobs creation because it gives them a better outlook. This is true no matter what field they go into.

Foreign affairs

Foreign affairs specifically related to the world’s impression of America are important to teens. These young people will one day play a role in these affairs. The groundwork that adults set now, can positively or negatively impact the future.

International civil rights

Stereotypes profess that teens are self-absorbed and unconcerned about others. Many teens want to see civil rights on an international level. Countries that deny rights to their citizens are on the radar of teens. Some even work to raise money for organizations that help these citizens.

Don’t assume that your teens aren’t thinking. Some may have difficulties expressing their thoughts about these issues. With a little encouragement from you, you may discover a very insightful Teen Voice.

Make It Simple: Kid Conversations

There is no blanket process for being a great parent and communicating with your children. Every parent must find ways to keep their relationships relevant. This means finding things that appeal to your kids. It doesn’t matter what age they are. You can discover real ways to encourage a better relationship.

When children are old enough for conversation, they will tell you how they feel about things. Parents moving at the Speed of Life have to slow down to listen. Group events with multiple children can be very special. It is important to remember that each child needs his or her own time with you. Simply talking over ice cream is a terrific way to express your love. You don’t have to be complex or try too hard. Just make a habit of showing your feelings in an effective way.

Use your strengths
Some people are not confident when it comes to verbal communication. This doesn’t let you off the hook in relation to your kids. Consider your strengths and incorporate them into the conversation. Sports, hobbies, and other things can be helpful in this process.

Show your interest
What things interest your kids? Listen to what they talk about and do some research. When you show your interest, you are also showing that you care. Simple tips can benefit you in conversing with kids.

Younger children are often less demanding when it comes to conversation. Teens have more involved interests and activities to accommodate. Even when time is short, you can find methods to keep conversations fresh. Texts and emails are wonderful modes to use, if you can’t talk in person.

What Are They Thinking? 1

The more time that I spend with teenagers, the more I'm certain that the world has it wrong. There seems to be some blanket stereotype that teens are only concerned with themselves. Many adults think (wrongly) that this age group is interested in just a few things. Things like celebrity, music, and movies do interest this group by-and-large.

Teens are just as diverse, however, as adults are. They normally adopt some of the same interests that their parents do. This doesn't mean that they come to the same conclusions about current issues. It simply means that if you aren't a well-rounded parent, it's hard to expect your children to be. The influence that you have and the example that you set does matter.

From a bit of recent research, I found some intriguing topics that teens said they thought about regularly. Here are some of these topics:

* 2012 Presidential Election
* Results of Raising the Debt Ceiling
* Funding for School Budgets

These topics include issues that will impact the future of teens. Not only do they listen to news outlets for this information, they discuss it with each other. There are many deep thinkers in the millions of teenagers in our country. These are individuals that are multi-faceted, talented, and engaged. We need to take advantage of this and mature the art of conversation in them. Be a sounding board, and you'll be surprised at what you'll hear.

Go, Girls!

There are many groups around the country that have seen the lack of encouragement as it relates to girls. Unfortunately this is true no matter if we are talking about the issue of race or not. The fact is that girls need to be encouraged and inspired to achieve their goals. Popular songs and even commercials talk about our children being the future.

This is absolutely true! Girls deserve to hear that there are opportunities for them. These opportunities are in education, sports, music, etc. When you understand there are opportunities, it is easier to aim for a goal. Despite media outlets, stereotypical studies, and assumptions, there are girls out there who have high standards and goals.

These girls live in every community, in every city, in every state. Parents and role models have a responsibility to educate themselves on what's available to advance girls. Then they can pass on this information to children that want to achieve. In some instances, these opportunities may exist through camps, clubs, contests, and various other things.

Let's keep an eye out for these important tools! This is the best way to shape the future and the lives of the girls that will impact it.
